Vintage Laboratory Technicians:
These positions will involve performing a wide range of routine laboratory analyses on grape maturity, juice, ferment, wine, finished goods, and other production-related samples throughout vintage. You will be responsible for accurately preparing, testing, recording, and reporting analytical results to support production, winemaking, and quality decisions.
The role will require the operation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment, while ensuring accurate data entry, sample traceability, and sound record keeping. You will uphold the highest standards of quality control, laboratory safety, housekeeping, and compliance with laboratory procedures and accreditation requirements.
Working closely with winemaking, production, and quality teams, you will help ensure timely delivery of analytical results during the fast-paced vintage period. Full training will be provided for all laboratory methods, equipment, and systems.
During the vintage period, the winery will run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with the positions requiring weekend and shift work up to 6 x 8-hour shifts with the potential to work up to 12 hours per day.
Desirable skills.
- A minimum year 12 Chemistry or a related science field
- Relevant laboratory environment preferred.
- Knowledge of wine making process advantageous.
- Competence with computer packages including MS Office suite.
- Excellent problem solving, analytical and verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
