This is a newly created position, and I am initially recruiting on a temporary basis through Acclaimed Workforce, with the opportunity for the successful candidate to move into a permanent full-time role directly with the organisation in the future.
In this role, you’ll be working closely with the CFO, supporting the smooth running of the organisation’s finance functions. You’ll help maintain strong financial systems, ensure compliance, and contribute to a workplace that values teamwork and making a real difference in the community.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing accounts payable and receivable
- Keeping financial records up to date and accurate
- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Completing reconciliations and maintaining the general ledger
- Processing purchase orders, invoices, and other reconciliation tasks
- Assisting with payroll preparation and approvals
- Supporting the administration of grants and contracts, including allocating expenses and revenue
- Helping resolve any financial queries or discrepancies
- Experienced with Xero
- Tertiary qualifications in bookkeeping, accounting, commerce, or equivalent
- High integrity, professional judgement, and ability to handle confidential information
- Able to manage competing priorities while keeping a calm and organised approach
- A strong team player with a collaborative mindset
- Genuine respect and understanding for Aboriginal people and culture
